1) Death Valley National Park Artist's Drive

This nine-mile one-way loop drive winds through hilly badlands imbued with such a patchwork of colors that it looks as though one of the titans had dropped his paintbox. Tinted by the interaction of various minerals, sediments, and volcanic debris with the elements, the ladnscape is truley rainbow-hued. Artists Palette, in particular, about midway through the loop, mixes bright colors such as yellow, red, green and orange with pastel pinks and lavenders.
